Wishing you a December full of minty wishes and mistletoe kisses. But what to do with all those leftover candy canes? Here are 4 fun ideas:

  1. After-Dinner Dessert Mint: You know right after dinner, when you want something a little sweet to seal the meal. Peppermint is good for the breath, settles your tummy, and at about 50 calories, a better choice than other Christmas candy, leftover pies or cookies.
  2. Candy Cane Game: After the Christmas hubbub is over, invite a few friends over and play the candy cane game. Throw a pile of candy canes on the table. With the straight side in your mouth, try to hook as many candy canes as you can in 1 minute. Take turns. The winner gets the extra wrapped generic gift in your closet. (You know you have one.)
  3. Beverage Coolers: And while you’re trying to hook the candy canes, here’s a fun adult beverage, Candy Cane Martinis. Or plop one in a freshly brewed cup of hot cocoa for added minty fun. Tip: Crush first to dissolve faster!
  4. Candy Crush It: Crushed candy canes are you’re allowed a little splurge (or five ?). And, a crushed candy cane added to your best semi-sweet darkest chocolate makes a delicious bark. Which also makes an amazing Hostess gift for those end-of-the-year parties you’ll be attending!

Even if you don’t have any leftover candy canes in the house, starting tomorrow, they’ll be on sale 1/2 price! Hope your holidays are extra sweet.

You are never too old to enjoy a bit of minty fun . . .
