Melinda has written a lot about loving bubbles, blowing them, seeing them…I have a special place in my heart for soaking in them…taking a bubble bath.

Just like there are cat people and dog people, I’m convinced there are bath people and shower people. 

I’m a bath person.

For me, a a bath much more than about getting clean…

When All Else Fails Take a Bath

I can trace back to childhood memories of being upset about something — and Mama saying.: “Well, why don’t you take a bath, maybe you’ll feel better.” She’d draw me a warm bath, putting in a capful of Mr. Bubble. 


Something about immersing myself in bubbles — the light, fluffiness felt contagious. And I’d emerge from the bubbles lighter, fluffier…transformed.

I still do. 

I’ve given a lot of thought (usually while in the bath) about why bubble baths bring me such a sense of peace. I think it’s because as warm water and bubbles envelope me, it brings me back to a sort of embryonic comfort.

Plus, water literally provides a lightness of being….

I feel embraced by a nurturing blanket of water. And somehow my worries seem to pop, poof gone (!), like the bubbles in my bath.

In times of stress, I’ve been known to take baths several a day—and on special  days, I even drink a glass of bubbles (champagne). But that bubble love is for another post!
